Hi everyone,

Not sure if I'm trying to recover for good yet but I have a question for you guys:

I haven't had my period for almost 3 months and I want it back. I've been trying to eat normally but now my weight has shot up ten pounds...yet still no menstruation. It's been depressing me that I haven't seen results...especially because I'm used to seeing results from not eating...and I'm tempted just to give up on getting it back and go back to my ED.

Have any of you lost their period and gotten it back? How long did it take? I've heard you can take supplements and apparently licorice helps because it controls the estrogen levels in your body or something...anyone heard of this?

Thanks for any help!

hey. i lost my period for two years and just got it back a few months ago when i reached a relatively normal weight.
i've lost my period twice, and have both gained them back within 4-6 months. i've found that taking birth control, of all things, actually helps to regulate the hormones. and trying balance your food intake and include healthy fats in your diet is essential too <3

really, as long as you eat and take care of yourself, your body will go back to normal. and just going back to your ED willmake it worse for every part of your body, your heart, your brain, everything. it took me a long time to relaize it, but even if i never get my period back naturally again, i know i'll still be healthy and alive

hang in there <3
Wow, you gained 10 lbs? i cry when i've even gained one. I cant help it. I know i need to gain back weight (i lost about 40lbs w/ an ed, i went from 129 to 89 lbs in 2 months, now i'm about 93) but it's so hard. Do you have any advice for me? Please, if you do respond ASAP b/c i'm ruining my mom, and my sisters life. Please help me.
